A poem of dark romance.

Dark Prince
For as long as I can remember
The night has been my friend,
My solace,
My passion,
My comfort,
When life is closing in
I walk beneath the stars
And imagine you are just out of reach
Words begin to flow out
As my soul, you proceed to breach
I tell you how I have missed you
And wish you would appear
My prince of hollow darkness,
My shadow walking dear,
All through life’s pain and sorrow
When the moon would rise above
I would seek out my night companion,
I would search for you my love,
Never allowed to see your face
I yearn,
I crave,
I need,
The passion only you can bring me
My lover’s fantasy,
Oh, how I wish to see your face
Or hear you say my name,
The secrecy tears me apart
My soul, you are here to claim
I close my eyes, and feel you there
A lost shadow in the night
Only to vanish just as quickly
With the dawning of morning's light
