poem for my sisters wedding |
| Threads of Gold Childhood days are long since gone, Paled and faded one by one. Down and through those days of old, I’m linked to you with threads of gold. Shrouded shadows of the past, Memories that will always last. Now here on your wedding day Your shining smiles come out to play. Golden threads within your dress Glints of shimmering happiness. Fleeting flashes dance on to Graham’s looks of love for you. We’ve waited long for this event, Known to you how much it meant A golden thread of cyber hue Brought this special treasure through Unspoken dreams and happiness now You’ve’ found a future here somehow. My prettiest sister just got married Beautiful as the flowers she carried Tied with golden threaded rings Vows exchanged and tears stings So follow through those threads of gold, That bring unmeasured dreams untold, But the golden threads do not end here, It weaves it way through all the year And turn to future, lay unravelled Waiting for you to be travelled. So take those threads and live your life, Drowned in love as Graham’s wife. Chrissie Nash June 10 |
