A poem for a contest about a dragon |
See them running in day-light With no fear of the shadow above. See them laughing at the sky With no fear of the smoke. See them harvesting the forest With no fear of the noises See them forgetting you exist. Picture them running in day-light With their heads bent. Picture them looking at the sky With fear in their eyes. Picture them stumble about in the forest With respect across their faces. Picture them knowing you exist. Consider them running in day-light With a fork and touches firm in their hands Consider them looking at the sky With a bow and thousand arrows Consider them destroying the forest With fire and axes Consider them knowing you exist. Let them run in the day-light With their wandering minds Let them look at the sky To sometimes catch a stare Let them not forget who lives in the forest With sudden frightening roars Let them wonder if you exist. |
