A summer storm in the southwest
Clouds pour in with a rush
Thunder rolls out a warning
Lightning flashes its fury
Soon now it will be raining

The sun shining a moment past
Everyone outside playing
A summer storm rolls in fast
But there is no complaining

The summer heat is fierce
Of which there is no alleviating
So when thunder is heard
Everyone will be cheering

Drops of rain bring relief
The sun no longer scorching
Covered by darkened clouds
Soon now it will be pouring

Lightning flashes across the sky
Everyone inside watching
The rumble grows closer still
Only moments from the flashing

A sky of blue with white
Clouds changing everything
Dark sky alight with color
Purples and oranges blazing

A summer storm is wondrous
The sun’s rays are shining
As rain pours and drenches
Soon now it will be passing
