Their is hope for Africa
Across the wide oceans
To the land of “Unity and Diversity”
The South Africans are oppressed
With poverty and disease

Though the country seems gloomy
There’s a beacon of light
In the faces of the smiling children
Who, found their way to my heart

None of them are shy
When looking for a game
And their eagerness to learn
Only makes me admire them more

They’re the backbone of Africa
They’re the cure for disease
They’re the end of poverty
And the future of a country that needs a better tomorrow

Nelson Mandela once said
“After climbing a great hill,
one only finds
that there are many more hills to climb”
But I know that the children
Each one so unique
Will always succeed
in reaching the peak.
