Staring back at me

But the inside I could see
Unique and as imperfect
As only a person can be

Her hair glowed copper in the light
And framed her soft-skinned dial
With big bright eyes that sparkled
And made me linger for a while

Whose heart is kind and pure
Her soul chimed out with laughter
And made me linger more
What makes her extra special
Is that she’s not without a flaw

Today I saw someone beautiful
Radiant with love and cheer
An air of contentment surrounded her
Natural and sincere
Filled with utter devotion
For those she holds most dear

Today I saw someone beautiful
That I never before did see
I liked who I was looking at
Her spirit was honest and free
And with modesty I realised
That beautiful someone was me
