Reflection

reflection is a relationship poem.

you're like a vampire with no reflection of who you have become
you're like a bad memory with no recollection of how you and I went wrong
you're like a bad cop with no detection of how you made me feel
sometimes I find I wonder if we were ever real?

you're like a tax form with no exemptions on ways you can treat me
you're like a rule with no exceptions, feel free , do what you please
you're like a disease, an infection with words that poison and scar
sometimes I find I wonder just who you really are?

you're like an idea with no conception of how love should be
you're like a phone with no connection not ever hearing me
you're like a drug with no injection not able to fix what's wrong


I'm like the mirror you can't see, a reflection of what you've done to me
