Definition of a Writer

My Writers' Workshop teacher asked us to write the definition of a writer for our final

A writer is an artist
It's a person who can make you feel
It's a person who can use words like paint
And make a wonderland
A writer is a live-er
It's a thinker,
And a feeler,
And a be-er.
A writer is a person
Who can scream,
And sing,
And laugh,
And cry on paper.
Writers can write
Because you write what you know
And writers know that they can make you escape
Into their world
Real or imaginary
A writer is a person
Who can go beyond the alphabet
A person who can turn letters inside out
And make them bleed poetry
Or sing prose
A writer is a giver
A giver of life,
And heart,
And laughter.
A writer gives life to paper .
A writer is a musician
A musician that composes harmonies and melodies
And captures them in words
A writer is a writer
And he always will be.
