A Poem that Rhymes

Ah, my dear, you've made a good choice,
For you've just clicked on a poem that rhymes.
Yes, it chimes and climbs and eats some limes,
because this poem rhymes.

Making this poem took such a hard time,
but I made my first intention prime-
this poem, to be very fine,
simply had to rhyme.

If this poem didn't rhyme,
that would be a war crime,
and I'd be drenched in slime and be forced to watch mime,
If I couldn't make this rhyme.

But towards the end of a period of time,
you can't think of anything to...er.... earn a dime,
because it no longer rhymes!
What a....um.... cat thyme....

Oh I can't rhyme? Can I?
