Summer Rain

A short image poem

Candle wax raindrops racing down the window
Wind whipped strawberry plants
A green tennis ball under the shed
A sodden trampoline with rusted springs
Weeds as thin as violin strings

Oak tree silhouettes sway in the wind,
a puppet show against the skyline
A sunset haze that combs my hair
The trickling stream from the gutters
A butterfly waits, then rises and flutters
