Finally Free

I am finally free of
the phenomenal vicelike
grip of blind customs,
of saluting ineffectual deities
for numberless years.

For too long I have let
the dark abyss close around
trapping me in its
bewildering paths
of irrational dogma.

A little fairy, out of pity
for my helpless fate
brightened my sight
and lo! I have grown
invisible wings seeking

to fly away from the realms of
darkness of ingnorance
to the immortal shores
of truth, beauty
unending love.
