Poem I wrote about a girl I met
She left her life behind on the coast
Driving west, mountains on her mind
Leaving people she loved the most
Herself setting out to find

Smoke lined horizons in her sight
Highway lights her comfort and friend
As sunshine gave into the night
The moon and road her hopeful end

No attachments just instant gratification
From people she met along the way
Too long without a real sensation
No attachments hold her at bay

One more morning, as many before
Man asleep next to her, name not known
She dresses silently and goes out the door
Knowing from life it's best to be alone

Slipping into the car, down the empty road
As now and always she will eventually leave
Too much life and energy for her to unload
All the motion she will ever be able to achieve
