Why do we write

What's your reason for writing? Is it fame? Fortune? Or is it simply enjoyment?

If your goal is to be rich and famous
It can happen in this field it's true
But that's not why you should become a writer
It's because you enjoy what you do
I understand that money's important
I want it just the same
But I write because I love it
Not to get a shot at fame

This doesn't hold true just for writing
But for all things in between
Do them because you love them
Not to try and get things unseen

The moral of the story is simple
But if you still don't understand
I'll tell it to you straight
Live your life for you and do the best that you can
