First Poem

I wrote this in response to breaking up with my emotionally abusive ex fiance.

To stay or go, I do not know
For sure it’ll break me.
But decide I may or to break I might
Though you will never rule me

My life’s my own, not yours to have
As you see fit to use me
Though try I might, your wants do fight
To have their say about me

No more I say, I’m done tonight
For all my life’s a journey
To find my life and my own light
Without your needs confining
