A contest entry for the Try Your Luck Contest. A poem about an artist. |
| It is as if a bomb exploded; thoughts and images and colors all racing through his mind. The artist runs to the canvas to appease the chaos looming his mental eye. He cannot paint fast enough; visions of sea urchins, whales, flounders, and jellyfish all demanding his concentration. Splashing the parchment with colors of turquoise, magenta and sapphire, the creatures now seemed to have a home. Still not satisfied with the scene, he seeks to make it more real. Turing to his malleable clay, he molds and molds until the sculpture can be sculpted no more. He sits back and stares with awe at what his hands have just made. It is then that his mind is quieted and he can now go about his day. 33 lines Editor's Pick 11/9/11 |
