Where I'm From

Another poem from two years ago :)

I'm from jacks and jump ropes
I'm from the Jackson 5
I'm from Smarties to Babe Ruth then to Mary Jane's
I'm from poems that show real feeling
I'm from the Brady Bunch
I am from bratz to books to school to life
I'm from millions of voices
And yet they seem to be silent
I'm from jokes and giggles
And laughter and sorrow
From pain and suffering
The choices my parents made and the things they did
Will someday grow on me.
