If Only

This is the first poem I ever wrote. I wrote it in heartbreak to express my feelings.

If I could use the very stars and moon
To fill this void I hide
Not all the moon, nor all the stars
Compare to how you make me feel inside

All the stars in all their glory
They can not compare
Nor come close to how I feel
About you and how you care

Let the darkness come
It comes each and every night
But you are my strength, my relief
My only source of light

A poet I am not
Nor of poetry do I know
But this is how I feel within
And now at least you know...
