The final goodbye so hard yet so needed

You told me you hate me

And now I’m defeated

I fought to prove my love

Obviously it wasn’t enough

Our relationship was your way

Or the highway and that’s how

It was done.

The family life was such a show,

Only to make folks think you’re the perfect bo.



As I look back one last time

I remember when you were all mine.

That part of you I will always miss,

But the other side of you I’m overdue to dismiss



So as I walk away from all the pain and strife

I’m so glad I didn’t become your wife!

No regret or remorse just a Dear John note.



Our love was unconditional and I felt one of a kind,

Guess I was wrong when I heard that song.

I never lost anything, I gained someone back

The real me and I thank you for that.

So as I give you my final goodbye,
