When reality is too lonely for one virtual soul
Blake read his 23rd acceptance note: “Mark Peterson accepted your friend request. Write on Mark Peterson’s wall.” Blake began to love his newest best friend.

One key stroke and Blake’s computer screen went black. His reflection in the lifeless, lightless screen startled him. Was it really his gruesome face grinning back through the black silicone hole where virtual life began?  “Where are all my friends,” Blake said.  His hand slapped the key board.

The black soul in the cpu suddenly surged to life shooting Mark’s profile decorated with eight family photographs into Blake’s tired eyes.  Blake groaned as he read the words of the final tribute to Mark Peterson: “Precious husband I will miss you forever. I love you. Gail.”
