mem'ries thick with moss

Emotions were steeled,
defensive attempts to shield,
must yield to be healed.

Aching choice to live.
Real love compels to forgive,
no more impassive.

Offense they admit,
allowing them to commit,
renewed hearts are knit.

Pain of self-less love
demonstrated from above,
yields peace like a dove.
