|The Political Correctness Move that has swept through our nation is nothing more than a form of Behavior Modification protocols implemented on the American people.
It is my opinion, that for some times now our Government, along and with the help of the media, have been in the business of practicing the art of behavior modification on the population. As we know behavior modification has been around as long as people have. Behavior modification in and of itself is not a bad thing. How else could we develop new strategies for teaching? After all that is what one is doing when they learn something new and deem it worthy of putting the new idea or strategy into everyday use in dealing with the world around us. We have modified our behavior in accordance with the new knowledge. It is not in this benign form of behavior modification in which I wish to question.
Moreover, it is in the way in which we are bombarded, with the notion of being politically correct. What is political correctness and where does it fit into the private citizen’s world or oath of citizenship? Now according to Wikipedia political correctness did not show up on the scene until the mid-1980’s, by the (Right) to combat the liberalism of the day. As we see from this the correlation can be made, if you’re not yet a robot, that there is a battle in the higher echelons of society. A war not over land or trader routes but over your very thoughts. Simply put as to save the reader from another 15 page pamphlet, the mounting pressure combined with case studies of these new “crimes against certain sects of our society” e-hem e-hem. Has paved the way by the bleeding hearted lobbyist and the (Right) to infringe upon my civil liberties giving to me by my fore fathers. In short, if I can get the populous afraid to take a stand on anything then I can give them what I want them to stand on or up for.
