Unchangeable

a poem i wrote when i felt like i wasn't where i really was with myself

I built a wall to keep people out.
I forgave and tried to forget,
But things just aren't that easy.
I moved on and tried to start new
Without you, but my heart refuses.
I sit here now and think about
All of the used to be and wish
There could be’s. I miss and love still
But it doesn't change a thing. I
Lay at night as my dreams take flight
Through the midnight sky and hope in
My dreams, that i can see you there with me.
You’ve hurt me many times,
Bruises fade, but the memories stayed.
Through all of this i still feel the same,
i love you and that will never change
