A Forgotten Light Still Shines Bright

I will never lose sight of myself, one day others will understand. My first post-Review!

And I will be forgotten like another day
Just a memory that will fade away
So I catch my tears in my hand
And forget those who trampled on who I am
Let my broken heart be fixed
If not, then at least I will walk away with my wits
I will not let sorrow overcome me
My enemies will not take my joy from me
I stand strong like a tree
And take the change in season as they come upon me
Others may lie at my trunk, but they never stay
Here tomorrow and gone today
It has been and will always be that way
I create the path for me to walk
And even through the pain I will talk
I speak the truth, so hear my words
Head them, every sentence, every verb
Even though it may fall upon a defiant heart
It is, in my opinion, a start
So even as I fade into the black night
My spirit will forever bring light
