Let's raise our hands to the end of madness....
The whispers that once filled my mind
The chaos that did steal my time
The darkness that did hold me tight
The voices that did tell me lies
The noise that was inside my head—
It’s winding down
There’s quiet now

Those who talked to me at length
Who called on me, who wished me strength
Those who came and gave me pills
My nerves to calm, dispel the chill
The ones who took the little notes—
They’re all gone now
‘Cause I’ve been found

The white walls that closed in on me
That kept me trapped, despite my pleas
The tiny room I spent my time
The space that I would long abide
The places where my demons lived—
I won’t go back
It’s time to pack

The promise of a brand new day
The hope that darkness stays away
The light that found its way back in
The freedom from old ugly sin
The peace that only my heart knows—
I’m home again
With renewed soul
