Post-Party Photo

Had an amazing time at a party!

I stare at a photo of us smiling,
Looking at the horizon
Like hopeful dreamers
As the majestic sun was rising.

The singing of the birds
Made such a day much better
For what we all felt at that time
Were exhaustion and hungover.

Most of us were up, awake
From sunrise till the next;
Having no rest from traveling
To the party, then inevitably drinking.

Nonetheless, it was undoubtedly
An amazing night, worth remembering.
An occasion for the twins celebrating
Their growth into their prime.

And so, as I reminisce with this photo,
Trying to remember how long ago
Such an event happened and when
Such an event will happen again,

I smile.
