Poetry about pollution and selfishness and how they are destroying our planet. |
| The scent of earth fills my senses Enraptures me, reminds me The sight of trees and clouds comforts me As I lay on a solid bed of grass I welcome the sound of wind rushing through nearby leaves The plants and animals reach out to me Yearning for my healing touch I hold and caress each one in turn Losing all track of time I am happy The sun warms my face as I turn to it It bathes me in its golden glow Making everything sparkle, beautiful It erases all darkness and the world moves into the light Flowers are fragrant and in full bloom Animal coats gleam and feathers glisten Everything is so perfect, so still I want to stay here forever Reveling in the making of my creator But then harsh reality washes over me And the bittern taste of pollution lingers in my mouth Unnatural sounds assault my hearing Flora and fauna die and it tears out my heart Soon, I’ll be left with nothing Nothing but yet another neighbor Everything I’ve lived for will cease to exist And I’ll soon follow |
