| Lest you be bade farewell To dust and ash you find yourself May you let your troubles be Close your eyes That you may see Into a life Most extraordinary May any unkindness remain unsaid As many a muse have been misread Amid the righteous Is newborn strife We may be well To leave it behind Among solemn hearts and broken ground The bereft and beloved become unsound Statuesque with such pretense A casualty of mere innocence May the dimensions between us rest Bestow upon us reverence |
