A Faded Love

An older poem that I wrote.....

A love and a hate and a heart so true
All controlled by a mind so confused
Thoughts irrational, actions unimaginable
The pain brought on by my love for you
As the dawn comes ‘round and the darkness closes in
You walk away with my heart you’ve so bound
Your steps, they receed
I can hear their sharp sound
And now I feel the tears
As they come down, down, down
Lost in my darkness with these memories so clear
I wish they would fade
As you did in your own way
