This is what I imagined what a mermaid mother would sing to soothe her child.

A mermaid’s hush
Is the sound of a wave’s crush
Shush….
Rest your fins my darling
And listen to my gentle singing
Ha dee um…
The sun has set
And the day is done
The tides have gone to rest
Shush…
Do not banish the gentle kindness of sleep
You have nothing to fear
Your mother is here
Now listen to the wise
And slumber your eyes
