A free verse poem about a birthday party.
** Image ID #1887240 Unavailable **

Ribbons, balloons, and candles,
the atmosphere glows and sparkles;
laughter rings, and people chatter
as new and old friends come together.

My birthday is filled with wonderful surprises,
lots of gifts and games with neat prizes,
cards filled with lovely expressions,
words of care and even silly puns.

I can't help but feel special today;
I feel loved like I am on display.

All my indulgences are excused,
today, my diet will be abused.
All my favorite foods to delight;
I savor each and every single bite.

The best part of my birthday
is not the delicious never ending buffet
nor is it the luscious cake, cookies or jellies,
but the best parts are the lasting memories.
