observations on a walk on a riverside |
| Below the white opalescent sky Down in heart and questioning why, I wandered down a lonely lane, Thinking nothing could ever be the same. Sloping at the waters edge, I sat upon a lichen ledge, Watching water pull and play, Roll and splash, winding its way Folding back its neighbour wave with glee, on its long journey to the sea. Flowing over pebbles and sparkling stones Broken branches, grass and cones, Sunlight sang and danced on spray, Creating colours and tiny rainbow rays Splashes sing as if in tune; Minute yellow stars as if in bloom. Transparent tears glisten on grass Left by the wave as it passed. As I gaze in wondering awe, My soul is not troubled anymore. Chrissie Nash Feb 12 |
