Past Love

Another poem of a lost lover

I have nothing to say to you now
It's not words or endearment either
Happiness that I once hoped with you
Disappeared into fairytale books with happy endings
I guess this was my fault
I got too carried away
Into thinking that we would be together forever
But thats the thing
There's no such thing as forever
Everything dies eventually
I guess our feelings for each other just ended sooner than expected
These memories that I keep remembering only make me remember
Of the past
Me writing this poem right now is the effect
And I see my future
And you are not in it
It's so sad that it had to end this way
But it did
And I have to live with it
I have to keep my head high
And look forward to finding the day
Into which I find someone better
Someone whom I don't even know
But that stranger is giving me hope right now
He's giving me a path to fate
Yes, someone better and worth while
Someone who I will not have to write an ugly poem about
Someone who is not you.
