I Remember

Thoughts running through the mind of an expelledstudent

I remember
Walking down this road
Alone dejected and in the cold
Nobody could see the tears in my eyes.

I remember the warning given by my parents
The words of my father echoed endlessly in my head
The look on my mother's  face
When she read the letter from the University

I remember the dean of students office
As she drafted the heavy letter
The pity in her eyes as she appended her signature
Stamp! Seal and handed the envelope to me.

It was beyond her she said
I am to blame I was told.
I know not how to explain why

"The university was unable to tap
the potential in your son"
read the regret from the University

I can only remember
and hope they remember not
I remember...
