After Death
for the first time in my life
i was safe.
it wasn't just a feeling,
it was a fact.
how did i know this?
because i was dead.
i could no longer hurt,
i could no longer feel
there was nothing around me
i was finally calm at last.
oh! how i've been waiting with anticipation for this day
but it wasn't like i had imagined
it was bright, filled with laughter and love.
some believe this is what awaits us, some believe not.
i believe, no matter what you or who you are, there is always a better place.
