Love is the essence of everything right

I was a lonely girl
With so much fear inside
The dark was my nemesis
I slept with a light
I never felt good enough
I didn’t fit in
Always trying to please
I just couldn’t win
Before you
I was a woman
Empty and alone
No love inside this “happy” home
I was just a shell covered with dust
My life had not a soul that I could trust
Before you
My smile never reached my eyes
No one paid attention
That I was dying inside
I lived in a world
That was barren and cold
Before you
Love hadn’t yet touched my wanting soul
With you
I am a lady with so much to give
I am finally able to truly live
I am blessed with a smile from deep inside
My love runneth over
With you by my side
