Milestones

On the Highway of my life

A moment’s reflection:
I look back along the road of life
at the stones,
which mark the turning points for my soul.

The recognition of Baha’u’llah
and this led me to acceptance
the three oneness:
humanity – a single species,
God – one unknowable essence,
religion – all sent from God.

Learning
about my Father’s death
by reading his obituary
on the Internet;
I did not get to say,
“I love you, Daddy,”
or “Good-bye!”

My Mother
diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease...
I became her caregiver.

Other milestone,
smaller and out of focus,
but no less significant:
my parents divorce,
my grandparents deaths,
etc.
all play a part in the development
of the Lepidoptera
of my soul.
