The night that almost didn’t happen
Well I’m so glad it did
The only one I wanted with me was you

I know you were sick
But you decided to come along
You said to me, that’s what friends do

But I know friends
Don’t bother holding hands
And friends don’t take the time
To look deeply into your eyes
Friends won’t find they miss
The way it felt to kiss

Don’t long to love each other again

You say you have a girlfriend
You’ve been together for two weeks
Well, I can’t picture you with anyone other than me

You made it sound like you
Couldn’t believe it was true
Can’t we just put things back to the way they used to be
