A drifters saga
When Heaven's Raining Teardrops

Ya can't put love back together
once you've torn it apart
but I've wandered through forever
tryin to fix this broken heart

Feelin beatin by the winters
and the icy winds that bite
there's no headlights down the highway
on this cold deserted night

chorus:
When Heaven's raining teardrops
it gets cold so late at night
now I miss you in the mornin
and those times I held you tight

As I break around the next bend
all the skies turn overcast
and the sadness of this saga
is the ghost that haunts my past

There's a beacon down that dark road
and a lonely street light's glow
hangs just below the rooftops
down a street they call skidrow

chorus:
When Heaven's raining teardrops
and the lonely rule the night
You'll not find me in the mornin
I'll be gone and out of sight

There's a gnawin at my insides
I gotta feed that empty hole
the question is which hole to feed
the stomach or the soul

Ya know it ain't so easy friend
for the years have slid by fast
and all the towns I drifted through
have looked just like the last

chorus:
When Heaven's raining teardrops
and the lonely own the night
You'll not find me in the mornin
I'll be gone..
come dawn's.. first light.
