In memory of my Father, who has a 1977 Special Edition Trans Am (Gold)
Detroit Steel
Scott Connelly
Words: 68

Honeycomb hubs
T-roof
Gold with gold piping
A golden firebird
Engine, 400 cubes
6-6 liter
Hood so vast
Could build a house on it
Bucket seats
Look but don’t touch
Not so much a drivers’ seat
More a cockpit
Strap in
Go for a ride
Ignition
Hear the rumble and the roar
Hit the gas
G-forces push
You’re flying
Never want it to end
