Poem about feeling helpless and lost

Darkness surrounds pulling me down
Deeper and deeper into the blackness

Reaching out I desperately seek something to grab onto
Something to stop the descent

Scream out for help but not a sound I make
as the darkness strengthens its hold on me

Will I escape will I survive
Not a hope have I
