life viewed by the minority

We will never be those two children again.
We will never possess such innocence.
And that’s okay.
It’s okay.

We will never bask naked in the sun.
We will brave our scars, hearts open to none.
That’s how it is.
How it is.

They know who we are and see through our skin.
They know how we live and swear that we sin.
And it’s a lie.
It’s a lie.

We know who we are and know we’re many.
We know no gods and haven’t seen any.
Yet, we believe.
We believe.

We faithfully live and know we belong.
We yield not an inch battling the throng.
Yet, we will die.
We will die.

It’s one of life’s comforts and one of few.
We know we will die and they will die too.
All will know truth.
All will know.
