Momma's gone but her words live on ... A Country Music Lover's Winner
Thankful

I was brought up in the heartland
where I grew to be a man.
Momma always said to me to
be the best I can.
Each day we'd pray and give thanks
for the blessings that we had.
Now Momma's gone but her words live on
and I don't feel so sad.

(Chorus)
I'm thankful that my Momma's voice
is with me every day.
I hear her words of wisdom as
I kneel each night to pray.
"Do your best, love this land,
don't be afraid to take a stand,
and when you can, lend a hand -
help someone along the way."

I've done my best to keep the faith
that I was raised to trust.
I still adhere to the golden rule
though dust has turned to dust.
I see her in each gentle morn
when the sky is brightly clad.
Though Momma's gone, her words live on
and I don't feel so sad.

(Chorus)
I'm thankful that my Momma's voice
is with me every day.
I hear her words of wisdom as
I kneel each night to pray.
"Do your best, love this land,
don't be afraid to take a stand,
and when you can, lend a hand -
help someone along the way."

I stand alone in the morning light,
lay flowers on her grave.
We talk a while and with a smile
I give a farewell wave.
I'll be back to talk to her
'till the time we meet again.
Though Momma's gone, her words live on
and that helps with the pain.

(Chorus)
I'm thankful that my Momma's voice
is with me every day.
I hear her words of wisdom as
I kneel each night to pray.
"Do your best, love this land,
don't be afraid to take a stand,
and when you can, lend a hand -
help someone along the way."

I'm thankful that my Momma's voice ...is with me every day.
