Couples healing, still navigating terrain of marriage. A metaphor of change.
The river between us
has grown small as a creek, yet sometimes
we still find ourselves on opposite banks,
trying to navigate the stones between us
so that no one gets wet in the crossing.
My love, if not the creek, the tears.
Getting wet is just part of the journey
and standing still on separate banks
won't keep us dry when the rain comes.
