Monster inside

The monster dwells in the darkness, but never leaves me alone.

I can see it now moving towards me.
It's eyes a brilliant green,
but behind those eyes I can easily see,
the monster torturing me.

its face, mere inches from mine,
copying my every move.
but alas as I fail to control the monster,
it's torture continues once more.

With a soundless glide it follows me,
slowly making itself known,
and I as it approaches I cannot stop it,
from tormenting I and I alone.

This monster has harassed me for quite sometime,
It's claws ripping my every pore.
Not blade or bow can help me battle this monster,
and although I cannot attack this monster,
I see it in the mirror once more.
