Hope

Read in times of difficulty

Today I was surprised to find
A dream I had lay dead
I drank some tea to unwind
And straighten out my head

I wept, I cried, I laughed, I lied
I claimed it did not matter
When the tears had finally dried
Some thought that I would shatter

But up I climbed from dim despair
To find another vision
Smiles and hope intruded in
And led to this decision

To soldier on in hope and work
Towards a bright new goal
Forward, onward, try again
One dream is not the whole
