A day at the supermarket
I migrated to England from India for my studies at the University. I was allocated a small room which had a large table, a chair, a bed, two cupboards and a sink. The shower area was common. But there was no television or a radio. Too quiet, I thought.

I visited the supermarket to purchase a radio to keep me entertained while I studied. After a quick scan of the shelves I found one that matched my budget. I took it to a counter and asked a shop assistant whether I could open the box.

‘’Why would you want to do that?’’  She demanded.

‘’I wanted to make sure it’s the same piece that’s shown on the packaging.’’

She chuckled.’’ Well, if you’re not happy with it, you can return it and take your money back.’’

You would have laughed at me, had you seen my expression that day!
