| This poem is an Ottava Rima. The form for the Ottava Rima is abababcc. The rhythm is iambic. I have chosen iambic tetrameter. Giles Corey cried out, "More Stones!" When they piled rocks upon his chest. The feeble old man's moans and groans Were by the magistrates suppressed. He did not mind his cracking bones, Though other witches had confessed. He knew that it would only stop when his ribcage went with a pop. |
