A World Falling to Ruin

With its cyclical haste and dramatic escapades,
The world eerily rotates
And spoils the effervescent
And extremely fortunate few. 

Meanwhile, the whimsical chimes
Of a stately and onerous clock strike midnight
For a hapless and beleaguered spirit. 

The ill-gotten mishap that recently rampaged
This kind and blessed individual
Has vehemently trapped their fruitful
And undivided soul. 

And that dysfunctional world
Of weighty conflicts
Has besieged this unwitting traveler
On their precipitous and historic journey.

Thus, a life of determination and sought-after goals
Shall now turn to the prolific science of treatments… 

And the religious affirmations
Of a saintly aura shall reside
In this now remote and darkened universe...
