Together Forever...
I lie before you
But do you see me?
This dark reflection
Of your physicality
I am you
But you are not me
Wherever we go
You always lead

Sometimes in front
But mostly behind
I follow each step
Even though I'm blind
Yet I alone
Acknowledge this bind
Whilst you step on me
With feet that grind

With your friends
You make fun
At my expense
Wiggling your fingers
In utter nonsense
Oh look, it's a bird
A rabbit, a tent!
While I wonder what
On earth you meant

I find that nights
Are always worse
My kind is inflicted
With a terrible curse
Like a songbird
Losing its verse
We disappear
You're gone
And it hurts

Daylight takes an
Eternity to arrive
Frustratingly waiting for
What brings us alive
Devoted I am
Always at your side
You are the groom
I am the bride

I lie before you
But will you ever know
This dark reflection
That shares your soul?
If you could bother
As to look below
I am always here
I am your shadow.
