Summer from a different point of view.
Summer

Anxiety, stress, washing away,
Each day passing on clear sunny days.
The noise and the yearnings of children for summer,
Is chaotic at best and always a bummer.

I’d hardly know where to begin to let it all go,
If it wasn’t for the silence and absence of sound.
That accompany all places,
When children are not to be found.

Yes, it is summer and a time to refresh,
Before school begins with another school test.
A time to see, due to the summer, our brains are restored,
Our anxieties lessened and our muscles at rest.

Such are the many cacophonies of sound,
That permeate the air, on a daily basis.
So the meaning of summer; is silence, refreshment,
A retreat of sorts, and definitely, oasis.
